Wine Advocate 89 points: Ruby-red. Ripe aromas of currant, plum syrup and tobacco. Fat and sweet, with lovely fruit. Could use a bit more grip but there's no shortage of flavor. Finishes with good length.

Wine Spectator 90 points: Medium-deep ruby-red. Ripe aromas of black fruits, violet and licorice, with some minty high tones. Sweet and firmly built if not especially complex. Dominant flavor of kirsch. Finishes firmly tannic, fresh and persistent.

These right-bank Bordeaux wines are siblings from this premier 17th century Chateau in Fronsac. World renowned winemaker, Michel Rolland, is responsible for both red blends consisting of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. The 2010 vintage of Chateau de La Dauphine earned a 93 rating from Wine Spectator and a 90 rating from Robert Parker, recognized as "the jewel of Fronsac."
